BOXES: HEAVY TO LIGHT

BOX SIZES NOTE: As the size of the box increases, the weight of each item should decrease.

 

1.5 Cubic Foot Box - This the smallest general purpose box, used for items such as books, CDs, DvDs, tools and canned foods or silverware.

 

3.0 Cubic Foot Box - Known as the "Workhorse" of boxes smaller, heavier items are packed into this box. Small kitchen appliance, lamp base, pots and pans and small outdoor tools are suitable for 3.0 size box.

 

4.5 Cubic Foot Box - This Box is used for non-hanging clothes, linens, larger lamp base, lamp shades, unbreakable kitchen goods and toys.

 

6.0 Cubic Foot Box - The largest general purposebox, this box is used for light weight, bulky

items including stuffed toys, pillow and winter coats.B

FLAT SCREENS TVS, PICTURES, OR FLAT GLASS

For smaller flat fragile items; bubble wrap it and box it. For larger flat fragile items; bubble wrap it plus wrap in furniture pads to added protection.

Heavy Dressers to Light Dressers, Washer&Dryer

Create a list of what you will be packing and moving. This helps you determine how much packing supplies you will need.

 

Supplies packing list for furniture includes sofa and mattress covers, packing tape, bubble wrap, plastic wrap, sheets of cardboard or furniture pads.

 

Dust or polish everything you plan on taking to your new place, think of it being less work andsaving time when moving to your new home.

Clean out your furniture, this will make your furniture lighter and safer to transport.

 

Disassemble items that can be taken apart and put back together. Cover glass, table tops with heavy packing paper, and furniture pads/blankets.
